The Archon spawns alone on a bridge inside the top level of The Pyramid which is located north of The Maze. There are lizards out front but they will not assist. The Archon will cast a knockback spell and if you fall off the bridge into the alligator pits it will be nearly impossible to get back up without going all the way around or corkscrewing up the waterfall with levitate. The roof of the pyramid is a safe place. There are two ways to access the Archon. The first is to go around and around the pyramid and climb the ramps, fighting or avoiding the mobs many of which see invisibility. Another way to access the pyramid is with levitate because the walls are sloped inwards which will allow you to "bounce" up the levels. You can get the initial lift by moving up the corner obelisks or climbing up the wall next to the ramp to the first level. It's still possible to get aggro this way so know your exit path through the maze.
