Trakanon

Level 65 · Dragon · Necromancer · Old Sebilis

A former general of the Ring of Scale, the poison dragon now rules over the ruins of Old Sebilis. After the death of Jaled'Dar and the Iksar Emperor Ganak this dragon went rogue from the Ring of Scale and burned the old Iksar capital of Sebilis to the ground. He drops chestpieces for all Kunark class armor sets, and his tooth is the most difficult part of the key quest to access Veeshan's Peak. He also drops several accessory items. He can drop between 2-5 teeth, 2 other items and several high-level spells. Trakanon now drops 3-4 teeth commonly, 5 teeth uncommonly, and 2 teeth rarely (this info may need to be updated for EQL). Like trigger spawned Venril Sathir and Faydedar for the ranger/druid epics, the bard epic spawned Trakanon has a limited loot pool compared to real Trakanon, only dropping the undead dragongut strings and one other item from its loot list (except teeth. no teeth). === Strategy === Trakanon is a medium-difficulty encounter which requires several clerics, several solid tanks, and a lot of dps. High dps is important, you must kill Trakanon before his AOE DoT melts your raid. Trakanon is accompanied by a group of sebilite juggernauts, the sebilite protector, and Tolapumj in his lair. When uncontested, it's recommended to clear these first, as they will likely aggro your raid. When contested, several enchanters can attempt to control them with Rapture and Dictate. Trakanon himself casts a banish with a cooldown of several ticks on the tank or whoever has top hate. This banish teleports the player to a dangerous spot in the eastern mushroom maze where they will likely die. You can have one Necromancer or Paladin use Harmshield or Divine Aura to temporarily tank Trakanon and eat the first banish before sending in a Warrior to engage. Trakanon also casts a blind on the tank, so it's helpful to have healers ready with Cure Blindness.
